RULES
The following rules (“RULES”) together with Communicorp UK ("Communicorp UK ") general and competition terms and conditions (the “Terms and Conditions”) (which can be found at https://content.communicorpuk.com/competition-terms-and-conditions HEART.CO.UK apply to LEE VALLEY PROMO ("the Competition") which will run from 7TH JULY to 20TH JULY (“the Duration”). The "Radio Station" is HEART HERTFORDSHIRE.
Anyone who enters the Competition (an “Entrant”) will be deemed to have understood these Rules along with the Terms and Conditions and will be bound by them. The Terms and Conditions are available online here: https://content.communicorpuk.com/competition-terms-and-conditions
Details of the Competition: ONLINE WIN
To enter the Competition an Entrant must go online to HEART.CO.UK, answer the online question and register their details. Online entry will open at 00:00 ON 7TH JULY and close at 23:59 ON 20TH JULY.
From correct answers, ONE winner will be randomly selected and contacted by a member of the HEART radio team.

Entry is restricted to people aged 18 or older.
Entry is restricted to one entry per person; duplicate entries will be removed.

Prize:
Winner will win a White Water Rafting experience for you and the family at Lee Valley
Participants must be 12+ and under 18 stone. Activity rules apply.Prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
Prize will be provided within 30 days, unless prize is date specific i.e. event tickets which may be provided closer to the date of the event.
Any other costs and expenses which are not specifically included in the prize description are excluded and will be the sole responsibility of the winner. By way of example, without limitation, travel is not included within the prize.
Adventure Activity Risk Notice: Adventure Activity Risk Notice: The prize includes participation in a white water rafting experience at Lee Valley White Water Centre (the “Experience Provider”), which is operated by Greenwich Leisure Limited, a charitable social enterprise and registered society under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014 (registration number 27793R), trading as Better. This is a high-adrenaline water-based activity. By entering this competition, you acknowledge that this activity involves inherent risks of personal injury, illness, and property damage.
Third Party Provider: The experience is operated entirely by the Experience Provider. Communicorp UK is not the operator, and makes no warranty regarding safety, fitness for purpose, or delivery. Communicorp UK shall have no liability for any loss, injury, delay, damage or harm arising from the provision or use of the prize by the Experience Provider.
Eligibility and Safety Requirements: Participants must meet all requirements stated by the Experience Provider, including:
Aged 12 or over and under 18 stone;
Physically able to complete a safety briefing, wear required safety equipment, and perform self-rescue techniques;
Complete all required waiver and consent forms (including parental consent where applicable).
Assumption of Risk: By accepting the prize, the winner and any participating guest voluntarily accept all risks associated with participation, including risk of injury, illness, waterborne infection, or damage to personal property.
Indemnity: By entering this competition and/or accepting the prize, the winner and any participating guest(s) acknowledge and accept that white water rafting is a high-risk activity and, to the fullest extent permitted by law, agree to:
release Communicorp UK from all liability for any loss, injury, damage, or claim arising from their participation in the prize experience; and
indemnify and hold harmless Communicorp UK against any claims, actions, proceedings, costs or damages brought by themselves, their guest(s), or any third party in connection with their participation in the white water rafting experience.
Nothing in this clause limits or excludes Communicorp UK’s liability for death or personal injury caused by its own negligence, fraud, or any other liability which may not be lawfully excluded or limited.
Medical Advice: Entrants should consult their GP before participating if they are unsure whether this activity is suitable for their personal health or fitness.

We will contact you via text, phone and email W/C 21ST JULY. If you do not respond within 24 hours, we reserve the right to select an alternative entrant. This will mean your entry is void and the prize is forfeited.
Once we have successfully made contact with you, we will aim to get the prize or prize instructions with you within 30 days.

BEFORE YOU VISIT
If you’ve booked an activity with us, your booked time is the check-in at our reception. Please do not arrive at reception before this; additional time has been allocated within this check-in to allow for potential queues at our reception and changing rooms
Unless stated, all kit and equipment is provided – you’ll just need to bring your swim wear and a towel. If you’re taking part in a flat water activity where kit isn't provided and don't wish to hire a wetsuit, you’ll need to wear a minimum of shorts and a t-shirt whilst on the activity
Before your experience, you’ll need to remove jewellery and any items of value. To avoid risk of loss or damage, please leave valuables at home
Any participants aged 18 or under, participating in a Rodeo Rafting, Rafting Unleashed, Family Rafting, Hydrospeeding or Hot Dog experience must have our Parental Consent Form signed by their legal parent/guardian before being able to do the activity
Before you arrive at the venue for your activity, please ensure you’ve completed the relevant safety declaration form online for each participant:

Participants aged 8-17 must have a responsible adult (over the age of 21 unless legal parent/guardian) who remains on site at Lee Valley White Water Centre for the duration of their activity.

Before participating in our water activities, you’ll be provided with the equipment required for the activity and be taken through a safety brief with an instructor. Be sure to take note of the instructions you're given to prepare you for the activity.
To be able to participate in our water activities you must:
Receive and understand a safety briefing
Have all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required for the activity correctly fitted
Be able to maintain the body positioning required for the activity
Be able to use any equipment required to move the craft you are using
Be able to assist in own rescue from the water by holding onto the craft and either pulling yourself back in or onto the craft you are using
Be alert and able to respond to simple visual or verbal commands from the instructors
Be able to receive and hold a throw rope to support your exit from the water area if required
Be able to exit the course unassisted via the stepped access
Moving water activities (Rodeo Rafting, Rafting Unleashed, Hydrospeeding, Hot Dogs and Family Rafting) require participants to be able to also perform the following:
Be able to manoeuvre into positions required for the activity;
Rafting requires participants to adopt the “down” position (sit on the floor of the raft and support body without the assistance of others).
Hydrospeeding requires the use of flippers
Be able to move body position to the left and right when instructed.
Be able to adopt and maintain the Defensive Swim position and orientated body position away from danger (lying on back, feet down stream, with legs kept up on/near the water’s surface).

Stay safe and healthy around water
While taking part in any watersport activity always remember to:
avoid swallowing the water
cover minor scratches or cuts with a waterproof plaster
wash or shower as soon as possible after taking part in watersports and before eating or drinking
wear footwear to protect your feet
rinse equipment with clean water after use
What to look out for
While it is extremely rare, there is a potential risk of contracting infections from treated water. Potential symptoms to watch out for are:
mild tummy upset
diarrhoea and vomiting
loss of appetite
fever
abdominal discomfort
headache
chills
jaundice
anaemia
rash
If you experience several of the symptoms listed above within 19 days of visiting, we would advise you to visit your doctor and advise them of your recent watersport activity. Your health and safety is extremely important to us, so please also tell us about any illness.
