Summer by the River
Get ready for Summer by the River - a programme of free activities and events.
It runs from 1st June to 2nd September, taking place at London Bridge City at The Scoop, Hay’s Galleria and The Pier.
There won't be a dull moment with outdoor cinema and theatre, big screen summer sports (including Wimbledon, Ascot and the cricket), live comedy and music performances, fun family days, free fitness classes and a host of events to let your hair down on a Friday.
Summer by the River will be the ultimate London experience this summer.
Big Screen Tuesdays
Summer by the River guarantees a stellar programme of FREE outdoor cinema, ballet and opera screenings coming to The Scoop this summer.
Running until 2nd September, Summer by the River will play host to a star studded line up of modern favourites including La La Land and Guardians of the Galaxy and cult classics such as Grease, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
No festival would be complete without a delicious array of food and drink on offer and this year, Summer by the River is joining up with the amazing teams at Flat Iron Square and Look Mum No Hands to offer a constantly changing choice of some of the Capital’s finest street food housed in stunning country garden themed pop-ups.

London's Free Outdoor Theatre
London’s Free Open Air Theatre returns to The Scoop for its 15th year this summer with new adaptations of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and King Arthur, offering unforgettable and totally accessible experiences in the heart of the city.
Amidst iconic buildings beside the Thames, an oasis will appear each evening in which much-loved stories and characters will come to life.
King Arthur, based on Sir Thomas Malory’s telling of the famous legend, is adapted and directed by Phil Willmott. This will be the first time that London’s Free Open Air Theatre has showcased enthralling British mythology.
The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is an adaptation by Phil Willmott of the novel by Frank L Baum, directed by Justin Murray and Phil Willmott.
